Steady State Health

As a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner, Josie Cowburn is dedicated to listening carefully, validating patients’ concerns, and applying advanced, evidence-based care to uncover the underlying factors contributing to their symptoms. Her goal is to ensure every patient receives the thoughtful attention, answers, and personalized care they deserve.

Josie founded Steady State Health from personal experience. After navigating her own dismissed perimenopause symptoms, years of undiagnosed ADHD, and the complexities of conditions such as hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and MTHFR, she recognized the need for a more comprehensive, patient-centered approach to healthcare.

These experiences continue to shape her philosophy of care. She believes every patient deserves time, clinical expertise, and a provider who takes their symptoms seriously.

Specializing in perimenopause and menopause care, ADHD in women, and metabolic health, Josie provides personalized, evidence-based care through telehealth services across Oregon and Washington.

Community Contributions:

osie Cowburn, DNP, FNP-C earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice and her Master's in Family Practice Nurse Practitioner from Frontier Nursing University and has built her clinical expertise around the conditions and populations that traditional medicine consistently underserves. She founded Steady State Health as a telehealth-first women's health practice in Vancouver, Washington, treating perimenopause, ADHD, metabolic health, and mental health together rather than in fragments, filling a gap that leaves countless midlife women cycling through specialists without resolution. She has completed advanced hormone therapy training through Rachel Rubin's course for early adopters, and is a member of The Menopause Society, the Ehlers-Danlos Society, CHADD, and the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health. Her practice has a particular focus on conditions chronically underrecognized in women, including POTS, dysautonomia, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which frequently co-occur with ADHD and hormonal changes. She uses pharmacogenomic testing through GeneSight to reduce trial-and-error prescribing for mental health medications, and orders comprehensive labs and psychological testing at intake so patients leave their first visit with a real plan. Her model is built on the belief that women deserve care that takes them seriously, one step at a time, with a clear plan and a clear timeline.
